Often, at the mercy of hope, people will be willing to sacrifice a lot. Winston and Julia, of '1984', travel to colleagues in hopes that he will be of like mind in wanting to thwart the current government.
O' Brien, an inner party member of '1984', is an unlikely candidate to be of the Brotherhood, an alliance of people that live to change the future, and pass on their ideas. One of these, being, 'two plus two equals four', rather than, 'two plus two equals five,' or whatever the governing party tells you. O'Brien, being an inner party member, has much to lose if he is ever revealed, yet because he has hope, he takes the risk of approaching Winston and giving him his address.
Of course, Winston and Julia could have been set up in a trap, but his hope led him to not only go to O'Brien, but reveal immediately everything O'Brien would ever need to incriminate him. He was at the mercy of his hope, and at the mercy of whatever O'Brien would chose to do after they revealed themselves. However, these risks often do have rewards.
O'Brien turns out to be an ally, with access to vast stores of knowledge about avoiding the thought police and being captured. For example, O'Brien knew exactly how much time he had with the telescreen off, before it would be suspicious. He also knew that the smell of wine on Julia's breath would be noticed by the attendants, which make him either a man with great foresight, or someone suspicious.
At any rate, they all gained from following instinct and hope. O'Brien, recruited 2 more people to the Brotherhood, while Winston and Julia gained to satisfaction of being a part of something they've longed for so long to be a part of.

Your ideas are clear and easy for the reader to understand. Good use of vocab to make your response more interesting.
There is not much bad to say about your posts and it was very difficult to choose three favourites! The only real errors I found are so insignificant. When writing about novels, it is convention to italicize or underline the title. Also when writing numbers (ie 2) you should write out the word. (ie two) These errors are not that important and don't take away from your ideas, which are very well thought out and written, but are just finicky details. Brilliant work!
I really liked this post. Your views to reflection #5 made me think of the situation in a different way than mine. Your vocabulary use was excellent and it was easy for the reader to understand your thoughts and beliefs about the post. There is nothing bad to say as I thought it was a very good post.
Great ideas are shown in this post. vocab is well used and nothing seams akward at all. everything is well presented. great job on all your posts
